A police officer is to be charged with causing death by dangerous driving after his patrol car hit a pedestrian.
PC
David Allen, 34, is to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on January 29,
the Independent Police Complaints Commission said today.
Father-of-two
Ian Hambrey, 49, died after being hit by a patrol car driven by the
South Yorkshire officer in Doncaster in March last year.

The IPCC said a second police officer who was a passenger in the vehicle with Allen would not face criminal charges.
Mr Hambrey, a moulder at a Wath factory, died instantly after he was
struck while crossing Doncaster Road.
The police car had been responding to an emergency call and had its lights flashing and sirens sounding.
